Hannover Messe, the world’s leading trade show on industrial technology, took place in the final week of April, and Pajarito Powder took advantage of the gathering to demonstrate its advances in Engineered Catalyst Support (ECS), made possible by its proprietary VariPore™ process for developing catalysts.  Pajarito Powder exhibited for the fourth consecutive year as part of the Group Exhibit: Hydrogen + Fuel Cells + Batteries at Hannover Messe.

Dr. Alia Lubers, Pajarito Powder’s Catalyst Manufacturing Manager, provided an invited Technical Forum presentation covering the clear advantages of using the VariPore™ approach to building ECSs, stating “We can improve upon conventional Platinum on Carbon catalysts, not only in performance but also in durability and stability. Additionally, because our VariPore™ method is scalable, we can address affordability.”

Dr. Lubers’ full presentation is available here.

Thomas Stephenson, Chairman and CEO of Pajarito Powder, drove the point home by providing perspective on how the evolution of the automotive industry will be led by developers who can not only innovate methods for catalyst development, but who can also do so economically. “We focus on engineering our catalyst supports from the ground up. This allows for a high degree of customization that’s cost effective at higher volumes” he stated when asked what makes Pajarito Powder’s approach unique.

The presentation can be found on the H2FC website, here.

The firm also demonstrates confidence in its VariPore™ approach with its Precious Metal Free (PMF) Catalysts that are appropriate for lower power density applications. The high degree of customization and scalability in the PMF catalysts are sure to position the company at the forefront of the economic development of fuel cells.

Pajarito Powder also debuted its latest research in the field of electrolyzers, specifically the development of electrodes for alkaline electrolyzers. This research is being done in conjunction with Universities and various labs around the United States of America, and remains in its development phases, with samples available soon for key partners.

Pajarito Powder, LLC announced it is part of the largest-ever U.S. delegation to Hannover Messe, the world’s foremost trade fair for industrial technology, taking place April 25-29, in Hannover, Germany. For the first time in the fair’s history the United States will be a Partner Country.

Pajarito Powder invites its customers and partners to meet at the HYDROGEN+ FUEL CELL+BATTERIES Group Exhibit, in Hall 27, C66 at booth D31. A map of the hall is available here.

Pajarito Powder engineers and manufactures catalysts and advanced Engineered Carbon Supports (ECS), dramatically reducing or eliminating the need for precious metals in catalysts. The Pajarito Powder team will be on-site, hosting meetings with customers and partners in the fuel cell industry. The primary focus is on customers and partners attending the event, which begins on April 25 and runs until April 29.

Pajarito Powder will present at the Technical Forum, Tuesday April 26, at 13:20 on

“Engineered Carbon Supports for low precious-metal-content catalysts,” as well as at the Public Forum, on Thursday April 28, at 14:20, on the “True value proposition of low-platinum catalysts.”

Pajarito Powder is exhibiting two flagship products, PHC-3000, the company's new Engineered Carbon Support (ECS) – being launched at the show – for ultra-low platinum catalysts designed for high-power applications where durability and performance are uncompromising, and NPC-2000, a precious-metal-free catalyst that substantially reduces the cost of catalysts for lower power applications. .

Chairman and CEO Thomas J. Stephenson stated, "The Hannover Messe is the premier industrial show in the world and provides Pajarito Powder with an enviable opportunity to showcase our innovative products to not only our European customers, but the entire world.”

This is the third year that Pajarito Powder exhibits at the Hannover Messe, thanks in part to assistance from a United States Trade Administration program, managed by the New Mexico Economic Development Department, that partially offsets the cost of trade shows for advanced technology New Mexico companies.
